I have been trying to get Xfig running under X11R2 for a while, and
haven't had much success. The problem has to do with the text input
mode in xfig. At points which appear totally random, while typing
text the program will crash, and the X server will report a protocol
violation. There is no pattern to the protocol request numbers, and
the amount of text input required to crash xfig is random. Is there
some known bug in xfig (version 1.4.3) or X11R2 that could cause these
symptoms? I am running on an Apollo DN3000, although I have been
told the same bug exists on the IBM RT as well.
