[comp.windows.x] Does C++ run on A/UX and how solid is Interviews under A/UX?

jtn@zodiac.ADS.COM (John Nelson) (07/12/89)

Can anyone tell me how solid Interviews from Stanford is under A/UX
and what C++ compilers are available for A/UX? We're thinking about
porting some C and C++ code to Mac A/UX systems and maybe making them
X windows based if we can find a toolkit that's solid enough under
A/UX.

Oh... I hear that there is no colour support under A/UX although I
believe there IS colour support if you actually obtain X windows,
which I imagine you have to get from Apple right? You can't just slap
the MIT tape onto A/UX and expect it to work (?).

Has anyone run into any really bad porting problems to A/UX? I hear
that v 1.1 is pretty good (a definate improvement over v 1.0) but we
will need something quite close to Berkeley libraries and system
calls to make the port easy. And it should be fairly robust and
bug-free.

Any recommendations or ideas from you A/UX users out there?
