[comp.windows.x] X windows on NOS/VE - any users' out there?

pal@murdu.oz (Philip Leverton) (07/10/89)

Is anybody using X windows under NOS/VE on CDC Cyber machines? CDC have
the Xlib for NOS/VE as a product, available for $$$. So I wonder what
stories/info people have about X clients running on VE. Is it easy to
port X clients (e.g. UNIX code from the MIT tape)? How buggy is CDC's Xlib?
I have checked CDC's customer support database (SOLVER) but there aren't
any reports under X windows (although there is an assigned product
identifier - XWN).

Thanks for any info people can provide.

Re: Any users of X/Windows for NOS/VE out there?

X/Windows for NOS/VE is brand new. It was released with NOS/VE 1.4.2, which
was only shipped about two or three weeks ago. I suspect that no one has
yet had time to port anything of interest.

I, too, look forward to hearing of user experiences with this product.
