[comp.windows.x] OSF/Motif news

dbrooks@osf.OSF.ORG (David Brooks) (07/15/89)

As I am still getting email after mentioning OSF/Motif two months ago,
I thought I should post the following update.

Today, July 14, 1989, Open Software Foundation makes OSF/Motif
generally available. Orders can now be placed for the GA release,
which means that anyone can now become a source licensee. With the
Motif source code, you can port the technology to any hardware
platform that supports X-Windows. You also will have all the tools
necessary for migrating or building software applications. The source
license fee is $1000.

Remember, we offer a source tape. If you are interested just in
developing applications, we suggest you contact your favorite platform
vendor and ask what they make available. Many hardware vendors and
software houses have committed to support for Motif.

This current release is in fact the final snapshot. Release 1.0,
the official first release of Motif, will be available August 21.

Please, pretty please, DO NOT MAIL OR PHONE ME PERSONALLY FOR MORE
INFORMATION (or any other OSF person who may happen to appear on the
net). For information, or to order source, please call our Motif desk
number:

	+1(617) 621-8835

or you can call in through our main number:

	+1(617) 621-8700

or mail us at:

	Open Sofware Foundation
	11 Cambridge Center

	U.S.A.
	Attn: Motif Desk

We think it's rather good.
