Is there some method to get readnews to do this? It works if you use postnews. Thanx. Sudhir D. Kadkade (decvax!cwruecmp!kadkade) (kadkade.case@rand-relay)

Maybe this will help. This addition to my .login file allows me to
append my .signature file to mail replies with a single character
command: "V". And, it works outside of the news s/w; you can
use it for all of your mail. Note: this works with sys 3.
I think minor mods are required in the syntax for other versions.
Check your shell documentation. As usual, "^M" means Control-M, etc.
setenv EXINIT 'map V :$r /usr/jeff/.signatureMO^D----^['
This also undoes the "vi" bug which causes it to think a file has not
been modified following a ":w" or ":r" command (the insert of "-----"
does it.) Isn't Unix great? You can mold it to fit any whims!
