Howdy. I'm putting together a 25 MHz 386 machine (from NCR) which I'd like to run Interactive Systems' 386/ix version of Unix and X11. I've heard about three vendors who sell (I think) display cards (and server software) for such a machine. The three I've heard of so far: Blit board (sp?) by BellTech V8 and C8 (?) by Microport and one by Matrox I think each of these use some hardware like TI's 34010 to help speed up server operations. Anybody have any experience with any of these beasts? Heard of others? Or even (gasp) have heard of benchmark results on them such as xbench? I'd really appreciate any info on these things, as some of them get kind of expensive. Also, any idea if these servers support having a VP/ix DOS emulation window open?
