[comp.windows.x] machine type of the X server?

Pardon me if this question has been asked already ...

I was wondering there is a way of figuring out what type of a
machine the X server is running on. The machine type information I'm
looking for would include: cpu architecture, machine's vendor, its
model, etc.

I'm aware of the Xlib XServervendor function. This routine, however,
does not allow one to uniquely determine the "machine type" of the cpu
that the server is running on. All MIT servers, for example, return
the same vendor string.

Thanks for the help,
arman.

Nope.
