I am trying to compile texx (X11 Release 2) on an HP 300 machine running HP-UX 6.5. The code was got by doing an anonymous ftp (I did not do it so I do not know from where). The compilation goes through without any problems except that the C routine bcopy had to be replaced by memcpy and bzero by memset (The SysV equivalents). However when I ran the program on a dvi file, the window comes up momentarily and then dies printing this error message : X Protocol error detected by server: parameter mismatch Failed request major op code 70 X_PolyFillRectangle Failed request minor op code 0 (if applicable) ResourceID 0x0 in failed request (if applicable) Serial number of failed request 34 Current serial number in output stream 250 I copied the fonts directory from one of our Suns. I presume that is not causing any problems and that the font files are the same irrespective of the machine (Sorry if that was dumb thought). Have other people faced this problem and is there some bug fix for it that I did not have the foggiest about. If anybody out there knows the reason for this problem, please send me e-mail or post it on the network. My e-mail address is preetham@ra.src.umd.edu. Thanks in advance for any help I get.
