[comp.windows.x] X Window System Patches

I need to locate at least patches 8 & 9 of the MIT W Windows
distribution. If anyone knows how I can get these patches I would
greatly appreciate the help. These patches do not seem to have been
delivered with our release of the software.

1. Fixes are available via anonymous ftp to expo.lcs.mit.edu (18.30.0.212), and
   usually decwrl.dec.com (128.45.0.1), in the directory /pub/X.V11R2/updates/,
   in files with prefix "fixes".  Fixes get put there in batches at intervals
   only.  Summary lines are in the README file.
2. For those without ftp access, individual fixes can be obtained by mail by
   sending a message to xstuff@expo.lcs.mit.edu.  In the usual case, the
   message should have a subject line and no body, or a single-line body and
   no subject, in either case the line looking something like one of these:
	send fixes 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10
	send fixes 5
	send fixes 8 13 4
   To get a summary of fixes, make the line:
	index fixes
   If you need help, make the line:
	help
   Some mailers produce mail headers that are unusable for extracting return
   addresses.  If you use such a mailer, you won't get any response.  If you
   happen to know an explicit path, you can include a line like
	path foo%bar.bitnet@mitvma.mit.edu
   in the body of your message, and the daemon will use it.
3. Send bug reports to xbugs@expo.lcs.mit.edu.
4. Flames to /dev/null.

1) The patches that I need are for X11R3 not release 2.  Are these
   patches then in the directory /pub/X.V11R3/updates ?

2) When I tried sending mail to xstuff@expo...  I got that the user
   xstuff does not exist.

Could you please explain further?

For those still in the dark ages, substitute "r2fixes" for "fixes" in the
message I sent out pertaining to the xstuff server.

    Are these patches then in the directory /pub/X.V11R3/updates ?

Oops, old message.  The R3 patches (at least on expo) are in /pub/R3/fixes.
We don't have the R2 patches available via ftp, only xstuff.
