We have been getting some complaints that the current Serpent distribution was too large to ftp all at once. So, due to popular demand, the Serpent distribution announced last week has been split up into multiple files. As before, it can be retrieved via anonymous ftp from fg.sei.cmu.edu (128.237.2.163) and can be found in the directory /usr/data/ftp/pub/serpent. The file serpent.alpha_0.6.tar.Z still contains the entire distribution and requires about 12 MB. The new files serpent.alpha_0.6.tar.Z.part-xx, where xx runs from 00 to 10, represent the same data, just broken down into 1 MB chunks. The README file has been updated to reflect these new files.
