I hate to ask a *dumb* question, and probably one that's been discussed before, but how can you get a dump of a *color* sun raster image being displayed in a X window and then print it on a Postscript printer? I've tried xwd and xpr to no avail (xwd just hangs the X server). Any input would be appreciated!! Henry henryc@cs.umr.edu

My direct mail bounced so here goes: >> but how can you get a dump of a *color* sun raster image being >> displayed in a X window and then print it on a Postscript printer? >This doesn't help you now, but there will be reasonable support for this in R4. If you are running X10, I wrote a utility that does just that (it dumps any color X window). If you are running X11, I believe the command is: xwd | xpr -device ps -out file.PS I was told by other people that this would work, but I haven't tried it myself. If it doesn't work, my friend has ported it to X11 which works and I can mail you if you want.
