This is an introduction and request for any comments. I'm working on a program combining the use on DECwindows widgets, and VI corps "DVtools" library. DVtools allows a CAD drawing to be used in a program, putting the picture into a graphics window type widget (in the DEC widgets, this is a "WINDOW" widget). DataViews (DV) also allows attaching memory locations to objects on the CAD picture, so that when the value in the memory location changes, the picture changes with it. I want to use widgets in the program to allow the user to change data, and move from screen to screen. All of this is to provide some rapid prototyping capabilities, so we can quickly draw up all the pictures, buttons, switches and menus a user may want. All of this is being done in Ada, and all of this is being done on VMS. I sure would appreciate any comments and suggestions from people working on similar stuff, or interested in any of the combinations above. I'm new to this computer BULLitin board buisness, so I'll give what I believe is my address. I'm using a VAXStation 3100 with VMS DECwindows that is connected reachable via an ARPA address. I believe the 3100 can be reached at: hihank%vs31a.dnet@ford-scf5.scf1.fac.ford.com There is also a UNIX machine I occasionally logon to, that address is: hihank@scf1.fac.ford.com Thanks for any comments at all. I'm not receiving the xpert-request news yet, so please send stuff to the addresses above, and if that doesn't work, send to xpert-request, and I'll get it from someone who is receiving the news. Thanks again for anything.
