We're starting a large Xwindows based project (3-4 manyears of windows programming), using HP 9000 series workstations. I'm interesting in obtaining opinion on which set of widgets we should use. We currently have the HP release of X11R3, which includes: The Athena widgets The Xt Intrinsics "toolkit" THe HP X widgets The XrLib "user interface toolbox" I am familiar with the Athena widgets and with programing using Xlib directly. I don't really know much about the rest. One of our project goals is to be as vendor-independent as possible. Which combination of these do people suggest we use? Whatever we use, I expect to have to write several 'custom' widgets as well, so having source code available for the existing widgets in the set is important.
