I believe it would be much more accurate to note that Motif and
Open Look have quite a bit in common, and there are quite a few
places where they differ.  There are widgets where Open Look
provides more power and flexibility, and other widgets where Motif
provides more power and flexibility.  Overall, Motif supplies
more widgets than do existing Open Look implementations.

Well, its not exactly free, but remember that University SITE licenses
for Motif source are $1000 -- and that shouldn't be a big strain for
most Universities.
