Our friends at the West Coast X Archive were nice enough to add Serpent to their collection and make it available under UUCP, and we appreciate it. But I feel compelled to make one small correction to their last post in which they mention Serpent. Serpent is many things to many people: a user interface management system, a prototyping environment, a toolkit integration mechanism, to name a few. But Serpent is not a windowing system; rather, it is a mechanism by which one can take advantage of the best parts of different windowing systems and other technologies. We feel honored to be placed in such august company, but we are not window system writers, and I didn't want the net to hold any false assumptions about what Serpent is or is not.
