[comp.windows.x] how to make all tokens as hotspots ?

Hi,

  I need to display an ASCII file in an X window with the following
  requirements:
 
  (1) vertical scroll bar
  (2) horizontal scrool bar
  (3) be able to insert new text anywhere (only insertion, no deletion)
  (4) all tokens are hot spots
        When select a token, it can identify itself with 
        line-id, column number, text, and user specified info.
        Token separaters are not selectable.

  Since I am new to X window, I need some advice.
  Is there an existing widget (or piece of code) which fits into my 
  requirement?
  if no ? Can someone give me some advice about how to construct one.
