We are currently evaluating the NCD and Visual 19 inch X-Window terminals. We have noticed the NCD terminal stalls occasionally, and its not network contention. The NCD has also crashed a number of times. Has anybody else observed this with the NCD 19 or is it perhaps just a faulty unit. We have also just looked at the description of the Visual X-19 Turbo. It would appear to be quite a bit quicker than the NCD and its got some interesting features like greyscale and Openlook. Has anyone got any comments on the Visual X-19 Turbo? I am probably going to replace the chief developers workstation with one, since the processing is significantly faster than running the XServer directly on the Sun 386i. I get better performance across our net than he does directly connected to the workstation. The Visual X-19 has not crashed (in 8 weeks of useage). It is easy to configure and you can (finally) 'lock' the configuration parms with a password so that it can't be inadvertently altered. The ROM module slides out the back, so upgrades are easy. paul -- Paul Anderson (w) (404) 841-4000 gatech!stiatl!pda (h) (404) 662-0799
