[comp.windows.x] Need help installing XV11R3

I am having problems installing X version 11 release 3 on my 
sun 4/110 which is running Sun OS 4.0. I performed the 
installation in the following manner:

    [1] I logged in as root and created the directories 
	    /usr/bin/X11
	    /usr/include/X11
	    /usr/lib/X11

    [2] I changed the macros "OSMajorVersion" and "OSMinorVersion" 
	inside the "Sun.macros" file from 3 and 4 to 4 and 0 respectively.

    [3] I then ran "make world" and "make install". Both makes 
	finished without reporting any errors or warnings. 

    [4] Finally, I created a soft link for /usr/bin/X11/X to
	/usr/bin/X11/Xsun.

When I run "xinit", my screen goes completely blank and my keyboard
and mouse cease responding. The standard X cursor does not appear.

I would sincerely appreciate any help or reports of similar problems.
