[net.news] ARPANET listing, anyone?

rcj@burl.UUCP (R. Curtis Jackson) (05/08/84)

Can anyone point me to a listing of ARPANET sites *WITH* a
one- or two-liner on what they do? I already have (on the way)
an abbreviated listing (thanks again, Peter), but I would like
to satisfy my curiousity about what they do as well.

Thanks much in advance,	/* what a boring signature!! */

To get detailed listings of what the ARPANET sites are, you must write
to the NIC (or send mail to NIC@SRI-NIC, which would be equivalent to
sending to ...!ucbvax!NIC@SRI-NIC.ARPA). I do not believe all ARPANET
sites would be willing to give information as to their purpose, as some
of their purposes may be confidential.

Or some arpanet sites don't know what their purposes are...
