[comp.windows.x] awm: how do you control border colors

CJW106@PSUVM.BITNET (charles williams iii) (10/13/89)

I am using the newer version of awm (apparently awm 2.0). I had
been using uwm and grew tired of the way it handled menus. I like
awm but one feature annoys me: The border color of all the windows
are controlled by awm and are apparently set to the same default
color. I would like to be able to display the border color I
specify on the arg line:

      xterm -bd blue &

to specufy a border of blue, however awm ignores this and sets it to
the foreground color of green (in may case default for xterm under .Xdefaults)

thanks

So long as your awm was compiled with the RAINBOW option defined then
you should be able to set the border colour by the application name.
For example I fire up my xterms for one of the machines around here
by:
	xterm -name tgould
and my gnuemacs by:
	gnu -rn tgould

and have in my resouces:
	tgould*wm_option.foreground: maroon

so all my tgould xterm and gnuemacs windows have maroon borders.
