We think we may have run across a bug with the SunOS. We'd like to make sure it isn't a known problem with X before reporting it to Sun. We are running SunOS 4.0.3c of the SunOS. What we find is that within an xterm window, if we edit a file that has lines > 80 characters using vi, the lines do not get displayed correctly and blank lines appear. (I believe this is similar to the xterm more bug that the -cu option fixes.) Our fileserver is running a different version of the SunOS and different X binaries. It does not have this problem. If I use an xterm window on my workstation and edit a file, I have the problem. If I use the same xterm window and rlogin to the fileserver, I don't have the problem. I have checked environment variables and they are all the same (remotely and locally.) Has anyone else run across this problem?
