[comp.windows.x] looking for a 'timeout and lock workstation' facility

aster@osf.osf.org (Salvatore La pietra) (11/02/89)

I would like to have the facility to have my workstation timeout
and lock the screen (like the pause option in DEC window manager)
so that any process I have running are not interrupted
but my workstation is secured.

Can anyone provide any pointers on this?

ciao

The pause option is in the DECwindows session manager. It does not
timeout and lock, but just locks on user command. If you're not using
a session manager, you can get similar functionality from programs like
xlock. Several versions have been posted to the net.
