Okay, no laughing... I'm using X10 (I said no laughing), and in cutting and pasting from one window to another, the limit to the buffer seems to be about 3-4 lines, (about 256 characters?). Is there a way to expand this buffer size? This is the action that takes place when holding SHIFT-(left mouse button) and SHIFT-(middle mouse button). Thanks for any help (and for not laughing)... We now return you to regular programming. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Is my car the only one in America where | Justin "Ice Cream Monster" Masters someone breaks in and turns up my radio | every time I park? - Steven Wright | jmasters@fmdgr1.intel.com

I bet that you are pasting into 'ex' or 'vi'. The limit is in the input buffer for Unix, not the cut-paste buffer. Vi and ex are slow enough that they don't process the input characters fast enough from the paste. Don't apologize for using X10. We still use the X10 xbiff client with the x10tox11 protocol converter and will continue to use it until there is one that works as well as it does for X11 (X11 xbiff gets easily confused). _____________________________________ Brian V.
