I've placed two tar files for the contrib tape on expo.lcs.mit.edu. contrib/SeeTeX.tar.Z contrib/SeeTeX-fonts.tar.Z SeeTeX is a ``package name'' containing the former TeXx2 and associated software for previewing TeX files. Due to great demand, texx2 has a new name. Not getting any recommendations, I picked XeT. This version is primarily a repackaging of existing software, although this does fix a couple of problems in texx2.11 & up associated with glyph placement. Everything is built using Imakefiles from the main directory. There are some parameters in the main Imakefile that must be updated at each site. The only other options that might need changing are X version configurations in SeeTeX/XeT/Imakefile, where you can choose between X11R3 & X11R4. SeeTeX-fonts.tar.Z contains roughly 1.3Mb of Computer Modern fonts in the PK format. This directory unpacks in the SeeTeX hierarchy. The Imakefile will automatically build compressed SNF fonts for specific servers. The fonts were shipped in PK format for compactness. The included program ``mftobdf'' is used to convert the PK form to BDF. There are instructions for building additional fonts, although most sites will not need them. The other utilities included in the SeeTeX distribution include: + libtex - chris toreks ``ctex'' library repackaged with some additions for texx2 ...er..XeT + dviselect - used by XeT + texx - for die-hards + texsun - for anachronistic die-hards + iptex - for hardcopy on an imagen Dirk Grunwald -- Univ. of Colorado at Boulder (grunwald@foobar.colorado.edu) (grunwald@boulder.colorado.edu)
