I am in need of help with this programming problem, and at risk of showing my ignorance, let me state the problem: I want to show a file on the x-display in a browser window (I've done this ok so far), but I want to point to an arbitrary word in the window at an arbitrary location, click the mouse, and have the callback routine return the word (anything delimited by two spaces /or space and \nl, into some variable. I have been researching this problem looking at code samples, looking at all the x books I can get my hands on, etc. and due to my complete inexperience with X, I can't find what I am looking for. Can someone please take pity on me and either point me to a reference that has this, or show me some sample code that will do what I want. I'm sure that this is possible (in my own naivety), only my inexperience is getting in the way. Thanks so much for whatever help I can get. E.
