[comp.windows.x] DECwindow applications between VMS and Ultrix

Hey

I'm trying to run a Ultrix DECwindows applications on my VMS
workstation (Ultrix 3.0 and VMS 5.1-1).

In order to do it i have to let all users on the Ultrix machine
have access to the display of my workstation, even if it's only
myself who wants to do it. Is this correct ?

I have tried with giving access to Ultrix node::root, but this isn't
enough.

Cheers

If you want to restrict access so that only you can display on the VMS work-
station, grant access to Ultrix_node::uid where uid is your (Ultrix) numeric
user id.

You can find this uid in the /etc/passwd file entry for your username.
Layout of the passwd file (from passwd(5)) is:

username:password:uid:gid:gcos-field:home-dir:login-shell
