Hello all of you XView fans. I am in the process of writing a DNA sequence analysis package using XView. I need to use colored text, imaging, and vector graphics in this package. The problem that I am running into is speed. A sun 3/160 running X11/R3 just does not cut it with color graphics. I am also using XNEWS beta1.0, but that needs SunOS 4.0.x to run, and we are primarily a 3.5 lab. So where/when/how can I get a copy of the R4 release from MIT? Will it still run under 3.5? Will it work properly with XView? Will it speed up my graphics by an order of magnitude or two (or three)? Do I need to dump our Sun 3's? Will I need more than 4 meg?
