[comp.windows.x] WM_PROTOCOLS and the active window manager

Is there a (reliable | standard | feasible) method of determining whether
or not the window manager under which your application is running supports
Client Messages indicating WM_TAKE_FOCUS, WM_SAVE_YOURSELF, and 
WM_DELETE_WINDOW?
