[comp.windows.x] xmh and the Meta key?

When using the xmh editor for replying to messages, though the
Control key sequences work fine, the Meta- ones don't. I was
using the Esc key for this. Any suggestions on what needs to be done
to correct this will be appreciated.

ps: I observed this both on a Sun 3/60 and an NCD X Terminal.
    xmh was being run as a client of a Sun 4/280 (SunOS 4.0.1)
