[comp.windows.x] Colors/Images BOF at X Conference

raveling@isi.edu (Paul Raveling) (12/08/89)

The Colormaps, Colors, and Image Display and Manipulation
BOF session at the X Conference in January will offer an
opportunity to show 35 mm slides and short VHS videos.
Naturally they thould be germane to the BOF's topics.
	Therefore...

	1. If you have something interesting to show, now's
	    the time to prepare it.

	2. If you plan to contribute either slides or a tape,
	    please let me know.

	3. If there's a particular topic you'd like to see
on the agenda, please let me know.

Where possible I'll try to coordinate a screening schedule
with a preliminary agenda so that the visuals and support
	the discussion.

For slides and videos not directly related to the discussion,
there'll be a show-and-tell period at the end of the session.
This will be an opportunity to show off anything you've been
doing with images on X11 and to share share your experiences.

Again, please let me know what you're planning to bring. If
there's a flood of contributions, it may be necessary to coordinate
some editing to be sure everyone has a chance to show something.

Videos and/or slides already volunteered are:

	    1. By Bruce Cameron of the Mayo Foundation:
Tape (~5 min) of a medical imaging package, slides
from a human vision simulator. Both are currently
		under development.

	    2. By me: Tape (~3 min) of color image visualization
in RGB space and in HSV space.

I'll also try to recruit a short video of real time animation
using digitized grayscale images, which appeared recently in a
demonstration by the Hughes Ground Systems Group.
