[comp.windows.x] Postscript viewer/DEC Windows

usenet@cps3xx.UUCP (Usenet file owner) (12/08/89)

A PostScript viewer for DEC windows has been mentioned here recently.
I have just started using a VAXstation 3100 here. Is it likely that
this viewer is on this system. If it is, how do I fire it up. I've looked
for it for an hour and I can't find it.

If you have manual pages installed, "apropos postscript"
or "man -k postscript" would have immediately returned something like:

LW (1) - PostScript printer manager
devps (1) - PostScript ditroff filter
dxpsview (1X) - DECwindows PostScript previewer
ln03rof (4) - LN03R ASCII to PostScript translation filter
macroff (1) - process Macintosh-generated PostScript file
for ditrof
f
mklist (1) - PostScript label generator
ppr (1) - print PostScript file
printer (1) - text file to printable PostScript filter
psfix (1) - modify PostScript from \fIMathematica\fR for output
psplot (1) - PostScript filter for plot(5) files
pssetup (8) - install PostScript printer

You'd then find the previewer is "dxpsview", from the above list.... (we have
random other postscript stuff on our machines; your milage may vary....).
