I have been asked to summarize the replies that I got about MOTIF. They are 1) Porting from DECWindows to MOTIF is basically name changing. The MOTIF porting guide describes the changes. (can mostly be done with sed script). 2) MOTIF widgets are (nearly) DECWindows widgets + 3D look. The nearly refers to the DEC Help widget, which is not included in MOTIF. 3) DEC plan to release a Developers kit for OSF/Motif early next year. It is based on MOTIF 1.0 + some bug fixes, and the help widget thrown back in! Porting tools also mentioned. 4) Future DECWindows will be fully committed to MOTIF -they hope others follow suit.
