[comp.windows.x] XCreatePixmapCursor broken for Decstation 3100??

aat@masscomp.ccur.com (Andy Takats) (12/14/89)

Are there any known problems with cursors on a Decstation 3100 (with
8-plane color monitor)? The puzzling symptoms: foreground and
background parameters to XCreatePixmapCursor appear to be reversed in the
cursor that appears on the screen, _except_ when the foreground is set
to R = G = B = 0 (black). (If I use R = G = B = 1, it reverses them).
The client is running from a Concurrent machine, and I can't imagine any
byte- or bit-order problems that would explain this. Any clues
will be appreciated.

Thanks, Please reply via email (as well as posting).

The server code to set the cursor foreground and background was
incorrect in both UWS 2.0 and UWS 2.1. No one owns up to writing the
offending code, but it has been fixed in UWS 2.2, which has been
announced but not quite released.
