I cannot make xdm use some of the resources from its .../xdm/Xresources file. The one I am interested in is DisplayManager.0.terminateServer because we want the server to restart completely when the user logs out. I also tried to set DisplayManager.0.openDelay just to see if I could affect any of the DisplayManager resources, but it ignored it. The funny thing is that I can use xdm ... -xrm "DisplayManager.0.terminateServer: true" and it works fine. The other resources, like color, border width etc. all work fine from the resources file. What's happening? _____________________________________ Brian V. Smith (bvsmith@lbl.gov) Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory I don't speak for LBL, these non-opinions are all mine.

In article <4501@helios.ee.lbl.gov>, I write:

Sorry, folks. I should have RTFM'd a little more carefully.
The DisplayManager "resources" go in the xdm-config file, not the
Xresources file. Thanks to a helpful soul who sent me mail about this.
