The thing that makes me want to flame is that DEC used PART of the Xt toolkit to make DECWindows (on VMS and ULTRIX), took some (as in not all) of the include files from the consortium hacked on them a little bit (took out usefull things like Label.h...), Label.h is part of the Athena Widget Set. It is not part of the Xt Intrinsics, nor is it part of any X Consortium standard. There is no requirement for vendors to ship the Athena Widget Set as part of a product. As far as I know, the DECWindows version of the Xt Intrinsics contains a complete implementation of the R3 Xt specification. It also contains additional mechanisms which are not part of the R3 specification, but the R4 specification has incorporated much of this. You may have something valid to flame about it, but you've certainly picked a bad example to give.
