I know there are a lot of X books coming out now, and I've read tons of articles and references on X, Xlib, Xt, etc...., but frankly reading s*cks. :-) Does anyone know of a good series of X programming exercises? I find programming to be the easiest way for me to learn, but I dont want to waste a lot of time programming useless (and uneducational) things. Something along the lines of "The C Puzzle book" but for X? Thanks bunches. -Dave (please e-mail responses)

If you want to use the X Toolkit then there are a whole set of example programs avaliable in the Core X11R4 distribution in "examples/Xaw". These example programs - about 12 in all - are intended to introduce the novice X programmer to X Toolkit programming with the Athena widgets. The examples cover everything from creating widgets and specifing resources to creating custom resources and application actions. Chris D.
