Ooooooh I hate IBM!!! (Do I really work for these people?!) Anyway, the R4 server for the BSD RT seems to go into hyperspace occasionally - sometimes one is able to do stuff again, other times it simply sits there for ever. I wonder if patches for the BSD server will be done? Anyway, when it works, it seems marginally faster than R3 on the mpel, but the bugs I knew about have been fixed. It also seems faster on the apa16. When I got R4 Beta I noticed that awm had vanished *sniff sniff*!! Has awm been banished? Have all my hacks to make awm faster and more user friendly been in vain?? *sigh* first rtl - then awm - I guess I'll be reduced to twm (just joking, the new twm looks quite impressive actually). Curse Shared Libraries! Long live Wren VIIs!! Does the shared library stuff for Suns (sparcs) help with performance or is it simply a disk space saver? All of these questions and I've yet to congratulate the guys at MIT - FAR FREAKING OUT! Bill Moran PS. No one formally provided us with a revised version of awm. so nothing was
shipped in R4.

We haven't done any performance analysis at MIT.
