After making R4 (sun3,cc) and fixing some minor problems, there is still one left. The escape sequence to rename xterm windows does not seem to work. Has anyone else had this problem or ist it just to RTFM. -hakon (howcome@media-lab.media.mit.edu)

Hmm, the following works fine here: echo "^[]2;newname^G" where ^[ is escape and ^G is Control-g. What are you trying to do?

Hmm, the following works fine here: echo "^[]2;newname^G" where ^[ is escape and ^G is Control-g. What are you trying to do? R3 xterm renaming accepted any non-digit character instead of the semicolon and any non-printing character instead of the ^G. According to "clients/xterm/ctlseq2.txt" which came with R4 this is accepted. However, as several people have pointed out, R4 requires the exact syntax you described above. -hakon Hakon W Lie It sometimes howcome@media-lab.media.mit.edu Media Lab, MIT E15-355 happens that people (617) 253-0312 Cambridge, MA 02139 are conservative and USA right at the same time --Wolfgang Kohler
