1.) A better way to get to Copley Place is Blue Line to State Street, then Orange Line to Back Bay Station. Bay Station is across a narrow street from the Nieman-Marcus door to Copley Place, which is then indoors all the way to the Marriott (useful if it is doing weather outside). There is even an underground tunnel going under that street from the tracks level of the station so that you NEVER have to go outside, but that route has no escalator. 2.) At Back Bay Station are available 7-day VISITOR PASSES to the subway. These let you have unlimited access to the subway system for some small price. You can then whiz around boston and cambridge and environs the way smart locals do and take in good restaurants, etc. Highly recommended. Just trying to help...
