I have recently installed X11R4 on our system. We are using Sun 4/260's under SunOS 4.0.3 and Solbourne Series 5 machines under OS/MP 4.0B. I have patch 1 for X11R4 but in keeping with current policy I have to wait for a month or so before applying the patch in case more patches are released in the near future. The problem is with the contributed software on the X11R4 tapes. All core software built without incident but the majority of the contrib clients (and window managers for that matter) fail. As an example here is the end of "make xrn": rm -f xrn cc -o xrn avl.o buttons.o clientlib.o compose.o cursor.o dialogs.o mesg.o error_hnds.o newsrcfile.o resources.o internals.o save.o server.o utils.o xmisc.o xrn.o xthelper.o vprintf.o strtok.o y.tab.o -O -lXaw -lXmu -lXt -lXext -lX11 ld: Undefined symbol __XEatData __XSetLastRequestRead *** Error code 1 make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `xrn' This linker error occurs in the majority of contrib clients. Would application of patch 1 solve this problem or is there some other problem? Thanks.
