No doubt that this question has been asked before, but I've been off the net for a while. I have recently looked at the release notes for X11R4 ( obtained from uunet.uu.net ) and I am confused as to whether R4 contains a server that will allow the release to operate on a system running UNIX System 5 r3.2. There appear to be two statements in the notes that contradict each other. The first appears on page 3 and states that the release has been built on System V ( on an AT&T 6386, I believe ). However, on page 8, in section 2.2, the document states that the only the client libraries and applications have been compiled for System V r3.2. If the latter statement is true, where was the server built, and is it in the distribution or not? Anyone care to resolve the mystery for me?
