I think this has come up on the net before. Is there interest
among uucp mail and usenet news sites in obtaining 2400 baud asynch
modems to cut transmission costs. We are a backbone site carrying a
full load of usenet news (from decvax) and a great deal of mail to a
number of major sites.
Has anyone had any experience using uucp over 2400 baud modems?
We are also considering a X.25 (U. of York) box - has anyone used mail
and news over such a connection?
I am particularly interested in hearing what types of modems
sites are using (i.e. what is most popular) as there appears to be no
standard asynch 2400 baud protocol.
