[comp.windows.x] Smooth sfigtoll for xterm

pjs@ARISTOTLE-GW.JPL.NASA.GOV (Peter Scott) (02/07/90)

One of the feature!tccet a VT100 providB.hat's really neat when
sfigtolling thrm
ta large document is smooth sfigtolling, wht in the
text moves up a pixel at a
edu!u instead of a line at aew beme. The
"smooth sfrolling" referred to in the xterm documentnwi"as Dpthis but rather the diffearsB betwet in scrolling a line at a
Aa
and several lines at a
eme.

If anyone has implemented pixel-granularity smooth scrolling for
xterm, we'd be very interested in the diffs. Unfortunately I
have neither the
Aa nornessjxpertise to makB such changBs myself.
Yes, I know it'd be slow. A4:13a4ong ,s it's as fast as I 12eit's
fast es. o.
