One of the features that a VT100 provides that's really neat when scrolling through a large document is smooth scrolling, when the text moves up a pixel at a time instead of a line at a time. The "smooth scrolling" referred to in the xterm documentation is not this but rather the difference between scrolling a line at a time and several lines at a time. If anyone has implemented pixel-granularity smooth scrolling for xterm, we'd be very interested in the diffs. Unfortunately I have neither the time nor the expertise to make such changes myself. Yes, I know it'd be slow. As long as it's as fast as I read it's fast enough. Peter Scott (pjs@grouch.jpl.nasa.gov)
