[net.news] Munged 4bsd-f77 articles

donn@utah-cs.UUCP (Donn Seeley) (09/21/84)

Some people have reported that 4bsd-f77 articles have arrived at their
site in an amputated condition, with the last part (the fixes) sliced
off at an arbitrary point. I imagine this is due to someone's disk
space running out... I was requested to resubmit the articles and I
did, some long point after the 2-week expiration horizon. These
articles had unaltered posting dates (in fact they were identical to
the original ones). It appears that 2.10.2 news catches articles with
posting dates older than the expiration horizon and sits on them; it
also saves the message ID so that further attempts, even with a revised
posting date, are frustrated. Since I'm getting rather tired of this,
I would like to ask that if you have received munged 4bsd-f77 articles
and want replacements, ask for them by mail and I'll send copies to
you.
