    We're running X (R3) on a 20Mhz 386, with a hacked version of the MIT
server (VGA 16 color) using Microport Unix(!!!). From what I've
experienced our performance speed is as good or better than the
standard MIT Sun monochrome server provided in XR3 using a NFS mounted
Sun 3/50 workstation. Not that either are anything to brag about,
but acceptable. Not running Purdue speedups on either.

Going to load XR4 in the near future, so we'll see if thats any
    help.

Oh yes, since I'm clueless, obviously my thoughts do not represent
    my employers....

Aside to Micheal Sullivan... We're in Pasadena if you want to come
    and take a look.
