[comp.windows.x] helloworld

Apparently, the version of David Rosenthal's "Hello World" provided on
the R4 tape is the same as that provided on the R3 tape. Is there a
more recent version incorporating the IC3M changes?

As the subject indicates, this is a beginner's question.
I have typed in the helloworld program that begins Oliver
Jones' book. I am running twm on a sun workstation (3/60).
According to the text, myhint.x and myhint.y determine the
top left corner position of the helloworld window. Well,
I can change these values to say, 0, and the window still
positions itself at the same position. BTW, yes I recompiled!!
What is the reason for my window not popping up at a location
specified by myhint.x and myhint.y? Thanks in advance.
