Hello there, I would like to know what toolkit/widget-set to use for the implementation of a graphical interactive query tool for examining a database containing model data. At the moment a student here is working on the specifications for such a tool. A first implementation will have to be made based on the X window system. Some of the user interface functionalities required are : - the usage of menus - the usage of graphical input functionalities (select, dig, etc...) - the usage of graphical output primitives (points, lines, arcs, etc...) - the usage of an alpha-numeric IO-window. We would like to know what toolkit/widget-set to use; There are so many. We know about the existence of xgks and other gks implementations under X but we would like to know about aother possibilities. Our preferences goes to a toolkit/widget-set that at least offers the functionalities given above and that is officially supported. (We are using X version 11 Release 4) Thank you, Marcel Boender -- Marcel Boender : TNO-IBBC USENET : marcel@tnoibbc : PO-box 49 DOMAIN : marcel@ibbc.tno.nl : 2600 AA Delft UUCP : ..!mcvax!hp4nl!tnoibbc!marcel : the Netherlands PHONE : +31 15 842031

I also would like to know which toolkit or widget set to use. Which ones look like they are going to have some longevity? Is there an accepted standard? -Mike
