I noticed that the client xev is not in the mit or the contrib directory of the R4 release. This client is useful for showing you what the keycode and keysym a key has when it is pressed. This is the only client I know that does this and is relatively easy to use. How will people know how to set up their keyboards with xmodmap if they don't know what their keycodes and keysyms are for their keyboards? Was xev deliberately dropped or was it an oversight? tektronix!sequent!roseal
