Does anybody know why Xsun under X11R4 is bigger than the R3 one was at startup?
(A bigger binary too.)

The text portion of Xsun has increased in large part because additional functionality has been added (several new extensions, the new color support etc). The dynamic data portion has actually shrunk by a large amount however, so your overall memory usage will be lower than it was with R3. Keith Packard MIT X Consortium
